One thing we neglected to mention in the HW5 writeup is that the idea of ranking web pages according to their in-degree was first employed commercially by the Google.com search engine.

Does anyone have any thoughts as to why pages with more links to them are more "relevant" than pages that, say, have more occurrences of a keyword?
