wops, forgot the "solution" part in the previous post
so at least one way to solve the problem is:
use plain black-and-white ppt in the lecture AND use no animation, for you have to assume students face difficulty in reviewing the lecture notes if this change is not possible
even though students can go home and print out the colored version handout on their own, identifying the informaiton conveyed by the animations still remains as a problem
