yeah. i mean, when i work on the andrew machines, it takes anywhere from 7 to 20 seconds to compress a 7 KB file... its very unpredictable. but when try the code on my own computer, and i don't have to share my processor with 200 other people, i can compress the same file in about a fifth of a second.
so, i also was worried about speed. but having a maximum file size would be nice.
