I understand your reasoning about the setRows and setCols. Most of what you have said makes perfect sense.
However, the reason why the functions are there in the first place is that when we were first writing the applet, it turned out to be required for creating multiple mazes without necessarily creating a new MazeCreator class each time. However, we were able to improve the applet to not use that function any more. However, we decided to leave the function in there just in case we made changes to the applet.
We did not anticipate the widespread confusion. At this stage, I would probably pull it from the assignment but considering that it is already friday and many people are finished with the assignment, I will not.
If you feel that the function is truly redundant then do not include in the files that you handin.I assure you that no points will be docked for that.
